OUR AIMS

1. Provide educational resources for the adults and children living on Dodi Island.

2. Implement and support health care projects which aim to treat and prevent illness.

3. Encourage development and self-sustainability.

Our Achievements.

FIRST SCHOOL

ALL ACHIEVED

To build and maintain a primary school
To ensure the school is adopted by the Ghanaian Education Service
To train two local teachers and fund their college fees
To help improve standards of education and support the teachers
To ensure that the school is regularly monitored and assessed

FIRST TOILETS

ALL ACHIEVED

To build a school toilet block
To add a girls only facility at the school
To build 2 new community blocks with 3 toilets each
To include hand basins in each block
To deliver hygiene and sanitation education to the school and community

CLEAN WATER

ALL ACHIEVED

To construct two clean drinking water boreholes
To raise awareness of the causes of diseases
To use water purifying tablets for water not sourced from the boreholes
To reduce the occurrence of water borne diseases
To reduce amount of time children collect water

First Lights

ACHIEVED

To install a 3KVA Off Grid Solar System on Dodi
To have 4 panels for school and community use
To provide IT lessons for pupils
To provide a community lit space for meetings and vocational education

First Medical treatments

ACHIEVED

To reduce infectious diseases through health education
Screening for bilharzia/HIV/Malaria
To link with Asyuogyaman District Health Department
To immunize new born babies
To provide prenatal checks by midwives
To provide first aid training and supplies

First Teachers

ACHIEVED

To have qualified teachers
To be paid,registered and monitored by the GES
To form a partnership with the Asuogyaman District Education Office
To train two teachers from Dodi
